Ministry establishes partnership with Doctors Society for the subscription of systems to support clinical decisions
On September 4th, the Central Administration of the Health System (ACSS) signed a protocol, on behalf of the Ministry of Health, with the Doctors Society that entails the subscription of electronic systems to support clinical decisions and on-going training. These electronic systems should be internationally recognised as based in the best scientific evidence.
These systems will be available and free of charge to healthcare professionals and the general public for a period of three years, as of the 1st of January of 2019.
This partneship now established foresees that the Doctors Society will provide a technical advice regarding these systems.
This decision lies in the Ministry of Health literacy policy and in the ongoing NHS modernizing program. Making these systems available to healthcare profisseionals, the wider population and interest groups, places Portugal among the countries that use these instruments to support clinical decisions and aims at strenthening health literacy levels, by allowing a free access to scientific, credible and certified information.Published on 4/9/2018
